Farmer Outreach Program
Wearology, in association with the Morarka Foundation, operates a Farmer Outreach Program, with the aim to bring as many farmers into organic methods of cultivation. The highlights of the Program are:

· Collaborative Farming Model: Also known as Contract Farming, hundreds of farmers have already accepted this model which is also in compliance with statutory provisions prescribed by Government of India under marketing reforms initiatives in the country. This involves two major programs for developing organic seeds production. In one program, farmers are identified and encouraged to cultivate crops with traditional varieties under expert guidance to produce high quality seeds. In the second program, tie-ups have been established to take up certified seed production through Breeder Seed Procurement. Once again farmers are selected to take up seed production as per internationally accepted standards

· Produce Certification: Based on adherence to International standards of cultivation, as well as internal standards such as the IQCS (Internal Quality Control System), which comply with the globally accepted Agri-Produce Quality Regulation Standards, produce is certified as Organic and then marketed directly to the retail segment as well as to the consumers

· Knowledge Management Services: An Integrated IT-ICT based platform supports the knowledge management functions. IQCS also covers value addition services and linkages for Banking and Insurance. Data is collected to record maintenance of production activities in agriculture. A web-based initiative, offering a marketing platform for small producers is currently under trial

· Logistics and Supply Chain Management: An online enabling infrastructure for transparent and reasonable cost delivery of logistics and supply chain management services is being made available to the producers and consumers of organic produce
